Rape of Cruise Ship Passenger Yields Multimillion Recovery
The maid of honor of a wedding party which was to be celebrated on a cruise ship was sexually assaulted and raped in her cabin by a crewmember. Evidence showed that the crewmember used his staff key to enter into the woman’s cabin and proceeded to assault the female passenger who was sleeping in her cabin. Despite the passenger begging for her assailant to stop, he did not stop until the bride-to-be and her mother walked in on the rapist.
Partners Ira Leesfield and Alexander Perkins were able to reach a confidential seven-figure settlement with the cruise line to compensate the young victim and wedding party for damages.
