Inadequate Security $1,000,000 settlement from a $25,000 insurance policy
A $1,000,000 settlement was reached on behalf of Plaintiff, John Doe, who died as a result of an unprovoked punch to the head. Plaintiff brought this case against the company where this incident occurred. The case ultimately settled before trial after Plaintiff established that the company had insufficient and inadequate security on the night of the incident. Evidence showed that the presence of security guards or off duty police officers would have deterred and prevented the perpetrator from punching and killing the 25-year-old victim. The assailant is now serving a 9-year prison sentence and the company has agreed to provide security from now on. Leesfield & partners attorneys secured the $1,000,000 settlement from the insurance carrier on $25,000 policy limits.
